Summer 2017 Beauty Favorites

Hi, babes!

I wanted to give you a little peek into what I’ve been loving lately in the beauty world as I’ve been slacking a bit in the blogging department (sorry!)

Summer is busy season for me at work, so I’ve been on the go day after day and haven’t had as much time to pop up posts as usual.

As for my flying schedule, I’ve been visiting and having a fabulous time in a lot of my usual locations like London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Paris. Feel free to give me a follow on social media (@betsyabernethy) to get a little more in the moment with the action of my job as a flight attendant.

This post will revolve around my summer beauty favorites, so ladies: take note! And guys, maybe you can use this as a reference for what to buy a special someone for a little “just because” gift…

You’ll find each product listed with a description and photos below. Each title is linked to its respective website so you can shop straight from here.

Let’s Get Beautiful.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent:

So to say I’m obsessed with this scent is an understatement. This is the perfect summer perfume. It smells a bit like sunscreen and the best things of summer all wrapped into a delicious, chic scent. I prefer this, the eau fraîche scent, to the eau de parfum version, actually. I can’t stop wearing it. It also comes in a whipped crème and body scrub, which I will definitely be purchasing next. The scrub is perfect for exfoliating before self-tanning. I found out about the Bronze Goddess range through blogger extraordinaire (seriously, check her out! Here’s her post on her summer essentials) & real life doll, Em Sheldon. Another favorite blogger/vlogger of mine, Lydia Millen, couldn’t stop talking about the whipped body crème.

Estée Lauder Day Wear Advanced Multi Protection Creme:

Now I got this crème as a free sample along with the Bronze Goddess spray. I hadn’t used any Estée Lauder products on my skin before, but I was blown away by this one. I barely have any left in the pot! It’s slightly cooling, it has SPF so it’s great to slap on under makeup in the summer mornings, and it smells delicious. I’ve been toting the travel size around the world with me and will be buying another as well as the full sized one ASAP.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter:

You’ve maybe heard me go on about this body butter before, but I truly cannot get over the scent and insane hydration it gives my skin. I keep it on me all the time at work and I’m always getting compliments on the scent. It’s totally my Holy Grail body lotion. I buy the travel sized ones for work—I probably have about four or five stacked up in my medicine cabinet ready to go right now. The large sized ones are reasonably priced at around $15, and you can also get it in pump-form.

St. Moriz Professional Fast Tanning Mousse:

This particular product I didn’t get a chance to get a photo of because I brought it on a trip with me to Edinburgh and I couldn’t get through United Kingdom airport security with it (even flight attendants have to deal with carrying 100ml liquids in a ziplock bag!) so I had to toss it. You can probably see how nice my tan is in the rest of the photos though, and it’s not from the British sunshine. This stuff works. I’ve used St. Moriz for ages because I can get it at Ulta (my favorite!), it’s affordable ($12.99 a bottle), and the lasting power and wear is likely better than some high end self tanners (I promise, I’ve tried them all). The Fast Tanning Mousse in particular is even better than their other products in the range. I can’t recommend it enough to those of us who don’t get enough sun or want to stay away from the harmful sun rays.

Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan Dark:

Another self-tan product I’ve been loving lately is by Cocoa Brown. I first heard about it through blogger & Instagrammer Sarah Ashcroft. You can buy it off of Amazon if you’re in the states, but I usually grab it post-airport security in the UK (you can find it at Primark too for under £10! Yes, Primark, and I don’t trust anything from there usually). It’s not a wet mousse like most self-tans, but it looks just like a hair mousse colored brown and goes on quite dry so you don’t feel sticky.

Matrix Total Results Miracle Creator Multi-Tasking Treatment:

This is another a freebie I got along with a Matrix shampoo and conditioner purchase from Ulta (Holy Grail). It’s a product I didn’t realize I couldn’t live without until I started using it. It’s basically a detangler you spray in your hair post-shower and it removes the snarls and tangles from your hair so you can brush it freely. It also protects from heat so you’re not damaging your hair when you blow dry and curl. I seriously love it.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue:

I’ve mentioned this lip product before here, but I am still obsessing over it, especially this summer. I need hydration on my body and lips constantly and this does the trick. It’s super cooling and its medicated formula with eucalyptus and menthol makes my lips feel mega fresh and cool. I actually go through a tube of this every two weeks or so.

Melisa Michelle X Ulta Palette:

I picked up this palette recently in Chicago because I used to be a major fan of Melisa Michelle on YouTube. I love supporting the girls I watch on YouTube and this palette had so much to offer for just $20. It comes with a few eye shadows that I really love as well as a liquid lipstick (that’s totally my color) and a highlighter and blush.

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care:

I found this product through the bloggers I follow and I totally get why so many people love it. It’s a very tacky, hydrating moisturizer, and the consistency is perfect for a makeup primer. The glycerin in the product allows your makeup to really stick to your face and it keeps your skin looking glowy and hydrated all day.

L’Oreal Detox & Brighten Clay Mask:

Another product found through bloggers (this is why I share my favorites! Gals helping gals here) is the L’Oreal Detox & Brighten Charcoal Clay Mask. I’m a sucker for charcoal products because I feel like they truly remove the toxins from your pores. This is a great dupe to the Origins charcoal mask as it’s a lot more affordable and works a charm.

Hopefully you’ve found a few new products to try and you love them as much as I do. What are your favorites for summer? Comment below & interact with me on social; I love talking beauty with my gals.
